We’re very lucky to live in God’s Own County, and can totally understand why people love to visit. With rolling countryside, a long coastline and a bucketload of charming market towns, there’s no shortage of things to do. While the popular spots in the national parks often have livestock or ground nesting birds, there’s plenty of walks where dogs can enjoy some off lead freedom or a swim in the sea.

Daisy Bank Camp: a charming off grid retreat, which is perfect for disconnecting from the never ending call of the internet, while still maintaining an element of luxury. An array of cabins sleeping two adults (2+ dogs depending on which cabin you choose) offer direct access onto the West Yorkshire moors and Calderdale Way.
The Mustard Pot: for those in search of a dog friendly city break, York is a great option. Many of the shops and cafes in the city centre are dog friendly, and dogs can join you on river tours with some companies. The Mustard Pot offers stylish accommodation for up to 4 adults and two dogs close to Micklegate Bar, with the Minster and Shambles less than 10 minutes walk away.
The Game Cock Inn: close to some of the most beautiful walks in the Yorkshire Dales, this pub with rooms in the quaint Dales village of Austwick offers comfortable accommodation and tasty food. Dogs may even be treated to scraps on a Sunday lunchtime!
