Widely renowned as Britain’s most dog friendly holiday destination, you’re hard pushed to find accommodation in Cumbria and the Lakes which doesn’t allow dogs (although there are one or two that don’t). We’re lucky enough to live close enough that we can day trip here, meaning we don’t stay as often as I’d like to, but we have managed to find a few dog friendly places which I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

The Barn: perched on the north western edge of the national park, the Barn is a cosy nook sleeping 2 adults and unlimited dogs free of charge. This is one of the best value stays we’ve found for exploring the Lakes.
The Queen’s Head: recently re-furbished, this pub with rooms has a luxury feel as well as tasty food.
Fiddleback Farm: this B&B in the northern fells is great value for money and serves a delicious breakfast.
