Island hopping around Scotland in a camper van seems to be all the rage today: but when you try and cram so much in, it’s easy to miss things out. We much prefer to spend a whole week in one place, and Scotland’s islands have more than enough to keep you busy, with pristine beaches, scenic (if often boggy) hill walks and local producers offering tasty local cuisine (the seafood in particular is often outstanding).

Driftwood Cottage: on a quiet farm track close to the Craignure ferry terminal, this cottage has two enclosed gardens and fantastic views over the Sound of Mull. Dated but comfortable, this cottage sleeps 4 with 2 dogs allowed.
