Wales

Wales is somewhere we’re really guilty of not exploring enough: if we’re planning a long drive, we usually head up to Scotland. Over the last few years I’ve been making a conscious effort to squeeze in at least one trip a year to Wales, and we’ve found it to be both unfailingly beautiful and incredibly varied. We’ll definitely continue with our annual visits!

Dog friendly accommodation in Wales

Little Hill Lodges: this collection of just two cottages is tucked away on a hillside over-looking Llandrindod Wells (Powys). Sleeping 2-4 (depending on the cottage) and up to 3 dogs, the cottages are thoughtfully decorated and designed with an eco friendly focus.

Mulberry Cottage: situated on an equestrian farm on the outskirts of Llandysul in Carmarthenshire, this newly renovated cottage is one of the most comfortable and well decorated places we’ve stayed (although I’d recommend keeping the windows closed overnight after a bat flew in while we were staying!). The cottage sleeps 2 adults and welcomes up to 3 dogs with a large enclosed garden.

Arthur’s Cottage: a charming slate cottage in the south of Eryri national park sleeping 4 people and 2 dogs. Both the mountains and North Wales coastline are in easy reach of this historic cottage.

Llety Wen: centrally located for getting around Pembrokeshire, this cosy cottage sleeps 2 and welcomes 2 dogs – the limited internet here is a great way to switch off.

Chestnut Cottage: beautifully decorated and spacious, this cottage sleeps 2 adults and up to 3 dogs. The location is excellent, being walking distance to Fan Y Big and the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal.

Lake Dinam Cottage: boasting a large secure garden, a hot tub and a log burner, this Anglesey cottage is on the cosy side but sleeps 4 and up to 2 dogs.
